| Weaving/Crocheting in progress, and the living room couch/bed. |
It occurred to me as I picked up yet another cat-hairy blanket, that I probably shouldn't have so many bulky blankets and quilts for them to sleep on. The smaller ones are fine enough, and easier to wash. Washing is only one of the things I've been doing today. I think I'm on the fourth load. Half of what I wash will go into the cedar chest until needed; I certainly don't want to have to do all of this again.
One thing I decided while picking up and moving stuff around in the living room is that I really don't need two couches in there. I have my couch/bed (it's a twin bed, really, that I use as a couch and sleep on during the hottest days of summer.) It's also useful and comfy to read by the window. And it's nice to be able to have my crocheting supplies on hand when I want to sit down and crochet a bit, too.
The other couch is a papasan couch. I originally bought it at Goodwill. It's fine; a bear to move the cushions, but in all honesty, I really hardly use it at all.
And, if I get rid of it, I will have room to put the small floor loom in its place. It's a perfect fit.
But, what to do with it? I'd like for it go to in the eventual upstairs library/spare bedroom, really. But that's a bit of a while off, and I'm not sure I have space to store it until then. I'm considering sticking it in the Project Room until I am to the point where I can move it; we'll see about that, because I also have a papasan chair, and that also needs to be moved somewhere too.
My envisioning of the upstairs library/spare bedroom is probably one wall (or one and a half; I really don't have an extensive amount of fiction books) of bookcases, a comfy place to read, a rocking chair, a bed, a small desk, and a small chest of drawers.
The comfy place to read was supposed to be the papasan couch. (The papsan chair is supposed to go into the sewing room.) So keeping it would be more economical than getting rid of it and finding something else later on. But storing it is going to be an issue. We'll see if I can fit it properly in the Project Room...
ETA: The papasan couch is upstairs. I only knocked one thing off the wall while carrying the second cushion upstairs. :( However, although parts of it did break (it was a terra cotta sculpture of a girl's head) it actually looks... kind of deliberately broken in those places, so I hung it back up. We'll see if anyone notices...
The loom is now in place. I can access my workbench again, yay! The hallway is completely clogged with stuff to go upstairs, however. I'll be working on that tomorrow, I think...
